Habits

Things I tend to do out of habit: bite my nails(yeah it is gross). Yoga, exercise, drink tea, distract myself with trivial problems usually involving the opposite gender.
I think thats why I like dramatic/emotional people to make up for my lack of it.

I'm addicted to being happy, I don't like having bad days or being upset so I just don't do it sometimes, honestly my problems are pretty minimal and there isn't a reason to be overly upset.

I want to do a trip and make it like Thelma and Louise style. I also should make a movie about me and my life.

this sounds good

Spiced Apple Tea

Makes 8 servings
Start to Finish: 25 minutes

Ingredients
1 lemon
4 cups apple juice
2 cups water
4 inches stick cinnamon
1 tablespoon whole cardamom pods, crushed
1 teaspoon whole cloves
6 black tea bags (decaffeinated, if desired)
1/4 cup maple syrup
Thin apple slices (optional)

Directions
1. Use a vegetable peeler to remove strips of peel from half of the lemon; set peel aside. Squeeze juice from lemon.

2. Combine apple juice, water, and 1 tablespoon of the lemon juice in a large saucepan. (Save remaining juice for another use.) For the spice bag, place cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, and the lemon peel strips in the center of a 6-inch square of double-thick 100-percent cotton cheesecloth. Bring corners together and tie with a clean string. Add bag to apple juice mixture.

3. Bring mixture to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer 10 minutes. Remove from heat. Add tea bags; cover and let stand 5 minutes. Remove tea bags and spice bag and discard them. Stir in maple syrup. Serve in mugs. If desired, float apple slices on top of each serving. Makes 8 servings.

so does this

2. Makes 8 servings

New Beginning

It's so easy for me to leave and start over but I'm doing the one thing that I am bad at. STAYING

I can't seem to sit still and build, I always need to change and do something new.
Well I've done all the new things I can think of and now I'm back at the beginning. Having learned a hard lesson. It's time to grow up just a little bit and build instead of destroy.

Go through with instead of come out of a situation.
Give up to choicelessness
Open myself up to a world of understanding I didn't know
Explore the new me whose walls have been left down
Whom cannot even recognize the reflection anymore

Andy Warhol Says, " You got your 15 minutes"

The original quote goes as the following, "In the future everybody will be world-famous for 15 minutes."

I went to the Andy Warhol Museum today and snapped a few pictures. Including things I wasn't supposed to :)

Then I walked downtown and got lunch and a Java Chip Frap so I could get a bunch of Itunes cards.

Went Bowling with Val and Maaz and went back home with Val and watched A Mighty Heart.

The previous movies we have watched together include: Third Wheel (terrible), Running with Scissors (not bad), The Pursuit of Happiness (Really Good), Brokeback Mountain (also terrible, really overrated and couldn't understand most of what they said)

And we have also been watching Rock of Love together lol

PJ Harvey just performed, Grow Grow Grow on Jay Leno it was awesome.

Update

Scratch that can't go to school right now its too expensive. I'm not going to slack off here but damn there must be a reason why this is so hard for me because when things work out thats because they are supposed to.

"We must respond to omens"

"It's called the principle of favorability, beginners luck. Because life wants you to achieve your Personal Legend"

"You must always know what you want"

"Language of Words"

I cannot live with roommates again the thought makes me shiver. I can't deal with this crap anymore. I have a job interview today and last night a really interesting offer came my way. I'm really thinking about it depending on its validity or not.

I want a job that requires me to travel a lot or at least takes me to new landscape.

New job needed
Budget

I expect too much of myself, I'm really hard on myself, I just want to be able to do everything, I have to learn patience.

I am going through a real transistion now, it seemed kinda half-assed before; I was pretty close but I couldn't keep the momentum going. At least I can recall what it was like to be able to feed myself and live well.

Coming up ROSES....

Half the Battle

I had a very productive awesome day.

Today when I was at work a co-worker bought me a brownie 

I have been walking home most days and I really enjoy it, its really good exercise.
It’s a 45 minute/ 3 mile walk and I don’t mind it at all, especially since it’s been really nice outside.

Doing laundry tonight and did some yoga while listening to PJ Harvey.

Looking for Studios because I need to live alone after all the drama/crazy/weird/dirty roommates I’ve lived with.

Now I’m listening to The Cure-Disintegration, I haven’t listened to this particular album probably since I was in high school/early college. A lot of people say this is their favorite album but I don’t think it’s the best; I prefer Pornography or even Faith.

As far as reading goes; I am still reading, The Unauthorized Biography of Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Female Brain and I just started reading The Alchemist.

Eating Curry so YUMMY

I will be co-hosting an art exhibition in a few months.

More details soon and more things in the works!

Labyrinth of Life

Went to Transfer Tuesday and it went well.
Tomorrow I am sending the fax to obtain copy of official transcript.
What I am thinking for Majors/Minors is Bachelors in Sociology with a minor in Fine Arts, and then I can take classes at the Art Institute.

Since I joined OMP have had 8 offers for photo shoots. Which is awesome cause it hasn't even been a week.

I am starting the Master Cleanse Friday can't wait.
Next Tuesday I will resume my Belly dancing classes.
Bally's is cheaper than the gym by my apartment and there is an LA Fitness opening up near me also.

Anyway I feel better having recovered from whatever that was I had a few days ago.

Driven by the Snow

Things I did lately:

Went to see Rasputina, I’ve now seen them 4 times! Once in Orlando, Twice in Boston and Once in Chicago. Watched DVDs from the Library, one on Howard Hughes, another one on visiting New Zealand and The Plague. Almost finished reading this book, Smashed. I should be full-time by next month. Got an awesome email from a company based in Toronto. When I lived there I applied for a few different modeling things and one just came up the other day. They want me to go there for a Fit Test and possibly a photo shoot. I ordered a cord for my roommates camera so I can upload images to the computer but I haven’t received it yet. I dropped off my shoes to be repaired they are rare and comfortable shoes. I also bought stamps, damn they are expensive.

I still have plenty of things to do believe me.

Florida Trip

Monday

Saw Amy, and developed old pictures. Went to Kobe Steakhouse has Sake and Dinner with Maman et Pavel.

Tuesday

Went to Outback for drinks with Nora and Maman finally had a Midori Sour and we had an Italian dinner. Hung out with Dana, Van, John and Nora. The Golf Cart Incident, Dana was driving the cart and I was sitting in the passenger seat. She was running people over almost. Then Nora, Van and I chilled until they needed to go home.

Wednesday

Went to Bongo’s Café it was the fourth of July and the wait was awhile. It was Christina, Maman and I and I ended up with fruit as my dinner and after we went shopping at Kohls.

Thursday

I saw Greta and I haven’t seen her since I left home, she has gotten chubby because of the water weight of the medication they have her on. Maman and I went to the Altamonte Springs mall and she bought a Sake set. Took off after 9pm sometime. Arrived at my apartment something like 10:30pm.

Looking up rental laws
Living with my neighbors and its great cause they both are artists and so are their friends and I'm surrounded by amazing people.

Can you be a landlord?

Really fed up with your landlord? Extract your own pound of flesh by knowing the law. Example: Tenants in Chicago can collect twice the amount of their security deposits if they can prove that landlords stick rent checks and security deposits in the same bank account, says attorney Aaron Krolik. (Most banks can help you track down this information.) If that doesn't work, Chicago renters can double their pleasure if their landlords blank on paying the stipulated interest on security deposits, currently 1.7% a year.

Terrible News

Since I live here now, Chicago is like home so its upsetting to hear this.

One Dead, Four Wounded Following Shooting on CTA Bus
CHICAGO - A teenage boy was killed and four girls were wounded when a gunman opened fire on a Chicago Transit Authority bus today on the city's South Side (near 103rd and Lowe).

Hospital spokeswoman Deb Song says 16-year-old Blair Holt died at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. He was taken there after the shooting.

The four female victims were all listed in fair condition.

Police spokesman John Mirabelli says all the victims were teenagers.

Police say a lone, armed offender boarded the bus and fired multiple shots. The male suspect then exited the bus and ran away from the scene.

No suspects were in custody.

Courtesty of KTTC

My Friend actually called me this morning to see if I was alive. I live by 21st so I'm South but not THAT SOUTH. It is a very segregated city and there are a lot of gang related deaths. But they usually don't bother people who aren't in gangs.

Deadweight has been Lifted

Monday: Went to see Leslie at the Library, volunteered and talked for 3 hours. Hopped a train than a bus and went to Lakeview to take my Belly Dancing class.Read My Hips is the name of the group. After the class I spoke with the instructor for 2 hours. Went to Walgreens and got food and went home. I was out for 12 hours straight.

Wednesday: Went to check out an apartment, it was in a really good location but it wasn't even a room, it was a one bedroom and I would live in the common area, the whole place made me claustrophobic. Next I realized how close I was to Beatnix and dropped off my resume hopefully they call.

Lightworker Syndrome by Steve Pavlina

30 DAY CHALLENGE
A few pieces of advice for those courageous souls who are taking the 30-day challenge:

1) Focus on actions, not results. It’s easier to guarantee that you exercise every day vs. trying to lose a certain amount of weight. It’s easier to guarantee that you write for an hour vs. finishing a page of text. Of course you want to select actions that you feel will give you positive results, but the main point of this challenge is to condition a new habit or to decondition a bad habit. In the long run, it’s the habit that will produce results.

2) Make it specific and measurable. Be specific in how you describe your new daily action such that an independent observer who watched you could say with complete certainty whether or not you succeeded. If your new habit is to “eat more fruits and vegetables,” that’s too vague. “Eat at least 5 six-ounce servings of fruit or vegetables each day” is better. It’s easier to succeed when you have a specific target; you’re more likely to fall off course when the target is too general. You need to know with total certainty whether you hit your target each day — don’t allow any room for rationalizations. Make it binary. Either you hit the bullseye or you didn’t.

3) Don’t give up. If you miss your target one day, start over at day 1 with the goal of making it further on your second attempt.

4) Expect to succeed. Intend and expect that you’ll make it through the whole 30 days and will share your success story on May 20. In fact, go ahead and intend for everyone doing this to succeed. Sometimes people get better results with a group than they do with individual efforts.

Lessons in Life

*I'm drinking Darjeeling Tea*

I recall the book I read when I was in elementary school I think I was in 4Th or 5Th grade.

It's called the Dark is Rising. Funny it just came to me the title and I now learn they are turning it into a movie. Funny when I started reading The Rum Diaries, that too will be a movie. Every time I pick up a book it seems it will be turned into a movie.

So before I went to work I stopped by Millennium Park to see the Dalai Lama. I bet it was an amazing thing to witness but I didn't get to see or hear much. Then I figured out I went to work at the wrong time. I was supposed to be there at 12-4 but for some reason I thought 1-8:30. It was because that's what I worked last night. So I stayed from 1-5.

After that I stopped by the Chicago Cultural Museum because its free and its right down the street from work. I walked around and looked at as many things as possible. I came to an exhibit where you write a letter about your unexpressed emotions. It can be to anyone and you can seal it or leave it open.

I wrote a letter. On the front I addressed it to "My Own Unexpressed Emotions". I sealed it shut. It was a nice thing because there was a mat to sit on so it was like I was meditating. It felt nice to just get all of that out there.

I also entered Molly into this contest, where you get to spend the night at the Museum. There are two twin beds side by side and if you win you get to spend the night in one bed next to an artist. I think it sounds interesting enough. Kinda reminds me of the "Lock ins" we used to do in Girl Scouts. Where you would get locked in a school and sleep there overnight. You get to stay up all night and watch movies and play games etc. I remember chilling in the library that was the best part. They showed us how to make Tang etc. I learned a lot of interesting things and
I fell asleep watching a movie.

So then I get home and everyone else starts coming home and me, dave, mitchell were hanging out drinking gin and juice. We went to pick up Molly hours later and she is staying the night at our place cause dave and her both have court in the morning.
They got arrested for protesting, I would have too but I went home because I think the whole thing is retarded.

I finished reading A Piece of Cake, it was pretty good. I liked how they have critical thinking questions in the back of the book.

I'm looking for a second job because I am not getting any more than 20 hours on average and I need to move out asap. I started talking more to my co-workers and finding out about them. I really like my job.

It turns out I'm too old to read some of the stuff I've read in high school.

I need some sort of amazing thing to happen right about...... NOW!

Blank Slate

YOUR RELATIONSHIP STYLE
The first step in discovering your best match is getting a clear picture of your own relationship style. Good or bad, your experiences with your parents -- in childhood and adulthood -- play a key role in establishing your relationship style and the kind of person who you're best suited for now. Based on your experiences, you will probably fall naturally into one of three categories:

? Isolator: If you are an Isolator, you need a lot of personal space. Isolators minimize emotion, are often guarded and unconsciously push people away, keeping them at a distance.

? Fuser: If you are a Fuser, you have an insatiable appetite for closeness and don't like being alone. Fusers crave attention and are sometimes described as clingy.

? Ambivalent: If you are an Ambivalent, you are a little bit of both. Ambivalents like to pull away, yet they want to feel close at the same time. They can also be confusing and hard to read.

YOU ARE AN AMBIVALENT
YOUR CHILDHOOD EXPERIENCES
Your childhood experiences show that you are an Ambivalent. As a child, you probably received plenty of love and affection from your parents but were also allowed to form your own sense of independence. Your parents may have upset you and let you down at times, but your childhood needs were essentially met. Therefore, as an adult, you have traits that are common in both Isolators and Fusers, two polar opposites. This means that your relationship style includes many interesting contradictions. You've been known to both push people away and expect them to dote on you at the same time. Freedom is just as appealing to you as being showered with affection.

YOUR PERFECT PARTNER
As an Ambivalent, you're uniquely qualified to have a successful relationship with a partner from either category: Fusers or Isolators.

In your case, "happily ever after" depends on which role you find yourself adopting more often. If you're usually the outgoing one in the relationship, often seeking affection and attention, you're more of a Fuser. This means that your perfect partner is actually your opposite type, an Isolator. You may have guessed just the contrary, that your best match would be someone who would shower you with all the love and affection you crave. But happiness for you means partnering with someone who will respect your privacy and support you when you want to do independent activities, much like your parents did.

If you're often a private person who likes her space, you're more of an Isolator. This means that your perfect partner is actually your opposite type, a Fuser. Contrary to what you might have thought, your best match is not someone who gives you all the space and freedom you crave. Instead, your best bet for long-term happiness is partnering with someone who dotes on you, someone who shows his affection and expresses his emotions easily and often, just as your parents did.

Voyager, Mes Amies

I wanted to be a part of what this artist is doing.. This isn't the exact project just the artist. I have been working non-stop and been sooo tired.

My manager is so awesome and everyone I work with is cool too. Also I'm getting more hours, setting some things up and getting ready to open shop basically. I'm concentrating on the better of things in life. Also planning a new trip.

Happy as a clam...

P.S. Did I mention that Kevy sent me a sweet package? With the Entire Series of My So-Called Life on DVD and my wallet. You know anytime someone loses a wallet that's it you never get it back, but I did!

I'm reading a new book also and half way through it. A Piece of Cake by Cupcake Brown, it is a New York Times Bestseller.

Had a dream last night, here is what I it means:

To dream that you fingernails are growing rapidly, refers to your desires to reach out to someone. You want to be able to extend a part of yourself to others.

Chinatown

I met up with Molly and we walked to Target and I bought new flip-flops and socks. Dave met us there and then we went to Dominick's and bought wine. We were walking to Chinatown and we met a nice lady named Helena who had a labrador retriever named molly; we had a nice conversation. Then we hung out in a park for awhile.

When Molly and I were first walking together I found this jacket on the ground that was really cool. I took it with me to Target and then put it in a bag and took it home and washed it. Molly and I played Phase 10 which is a great card game.

It was nice outside but as the night wore on it got soooo windy. We stopped by Chino's house to see if he had seen our roommate but he hasn't. Jeff our roommate has not been home in 4 days and we are worried that something happened to him. He won't answer his phone. He might be having surgury or he might have moved out of the country, either way my other roommates didn't seem too concerned. I had a dream last night that he moved out.

Finally after a lot of walking around we crossed the huge bridge and went into this really nice park. Ping Tom Memorial Park (300 W. 19th St) is the name of it.

We stayed there for hours contemplating, then walked back to Molly's and hung out and Dave and I walked home in the rain.

This morning we woke up and drove to pick up Carol who works for Curly (Dave's boss), his license was reinstated so he has that job again. He is working in 2 restaurants because one of them is only one night a week and the other one is a vegetarian one with more shifts.

We went to the Thompson center and met up with Dorian. We signed the letter to Emil Jones and went up to the Secretary of his office; Carol and I didn't go we left our ids at home. It was quick and then we left and went to a diner called Stages and we had them prepare us something more vegetarian. They didn't have veggie burgers, tofu or even beans! I had stir-fry without the rice and take out the water chestnuts and zucchini and it was on top of a pita. It was good except it wasn't rolled up and they drowned the veggies in soy sauce. Instead of the veggies I took out they added spinach and mushrooms.

Macy's Bootcamp

DAY 1 of Macy’s training, I got out slightly earlier because one I already went to get my ID badge and two I am with a partnership business, and honestly all I need is register training. So tomorrow morning I have to be there at 9:45am and doing register training.

DAY 2 more policies to do over and the dress code; we did a 5 hour Register training and I passed the test at the end with a 93% and we didn’t even do some of these transactions.

What are the pros of working for Macys?

• Get to wear all black clothing as well as mix it up with non-black clothing
• It’s okay to have tattoos and piercings
• It’s more than minimum wage
• I get 10% discount on food at Macy’s including Starbucks
• 30-40% on Macy’s merchandise

Started reading The Rum Diary. Last night it was really nice and we were walking and Dave bought me Ice cream from the ice cream truck. Today it was 71 outside and lovely and we delivered the Gene Siskel Film Center Newspaper for the month of May.

I sampled Frango, which are these mints that sold in Marshall Fields which now is Macys, its a Chicago thing. They are alright I suppose nothing to scream about. People are still pissed that the name is changed, because Marshall Fields is historic.

Updated version 3.0

There is a coinstar at Jewel better take advantage of that.
Also there is this exhibit that I need to see. BODY WORLDS 2. It is by that German Artist read more about him on HERE.
I've seen him on Ripley's Believe it or not (The TV Show).

Freakazoid is out on DVD I'm excited to know that.

We came back from Boston a week ago, I happened to lose my wallet in it my debit card is cancelled not like they could use it because I have a negative balance and they won't send me a new one until I pay them off anyway. I also have direct deposit at work so those paychecks are paying the bank back no money to me. My ID which I will have to get a new one anyway.

Jack brought me back my printer and a box of stuff I left with him, as well as a Vegan German Ganache Cake, it was yummy. I saw a few of my friends and not as many as I wanted to of course since it was a short trip but I had fun regardless. The dinner we had for Passover was good.

I also raided Dave's book collection in his old room :) with permission of course.

I like my new job only I'm not getting many hours, I have to get a second job and his job is now over because his boss didn't follow some strict procedures.

Oh and they have CLONE HIGH

Very excellent show

I remember all of these shows geez, I am getting old these are the shows I would watch when I was like 6. What they need to do is get Beetlejuice the cartoon on DVD, I only have 2 volumes on VHS but I could just convert them, I want to go back to collecting them, and then I will have them put on dvd.

So the other night Dave and I went to see Do the Right Thing; such a good movie. But right before we bought Garrett's Gourmet Popcorn which is so good, its a Chicago thing. That store always has a line going out the door ALWAYS. The one on Madison is not as bad as State but still its pretty packed.

I baked a cake 2 nights ago out of boredom it tastes pretty good, and we used our frozen strawberries to put on top. We are seriously running low on all sorts of resources but I'm not worried just yet.

I have been working on my portfolio to submit and enjoying the perks of my new job. LIKE FREE CALENDERS and FREE BOOKS also, they get rid of them sometimes and then they are free to a good home basically. I was thinking I was going to grab a bunch and donate it to Revolution Books cause they need donations.

I also can borrow books and I decided on

Catching the Big Fish: Meditation, Consciousness, and Creativity

By David Lynch of course, a film-making genius. After I saw Eraserhead I actually understood some of the concepts behind it; it takes a bit of analyzing to fully comprehend some of the other films. Also I think by reading it I will understand more of this question(s) I have been pondering lately.

If you create without a purpose can it still have a meaning? If everything you've ever done is random can it not only be visually pleasing but can it convey a meaning?

Basically do you need a goal to accomplish or can you like wind just be as you are. But I feel I've always been as is, if you tally the number of random cool things you've done besides life experience what have you really accomplished and its depressing to think you do anything just to have to be destroyed.

But there is a general goal and focus its not completely random and if my internal compass says its right then it is. It's a combination of logic and heart; growth is the most important thing in life; not being able to do that is failure. You have to constantly evolve into another version of you.

I'm not looking for quick fixes or concrete omniscent answers I just want a huge step in the right direction.

In a side note I finished another book and started also Nadja

Oh and there is a great game called Cut to the Beat its like DDR but you pick your own mp3s and click on it with arrows and it cuts up patients, its from the show Nip/Tuck. It's on the FX GAMES Page.

Oh I saw The Dangerous Lives on Alter Boys good movie.

Special Needs NEWSFLASH

There are five different levels in Maslow’s hierarchy of needs:

1. Physiological Needs:These include the most basic needs that are vital to survival, including the need for water, air, food, and sleep. Maslow believed that these needs are the most basic and instinctive needs in the hierarchy because all needs become secondary until these physiological needs are met.

2. Security Needs:These include needs for safety and security. Security needs are important for survival, but they are not as demanding as the physiological needs. Examples of security needs include a desire for steady employment, health insurance, safe neighborhoods, and shelter from the environment.

3. Social Needs:These include needs for belonging, love, and affection. Maslow considered these needs to be less basic than physiological and security needs. Relationships such as friendships, romantic attachments, and families help fulfill this need for companionship and acceptance, as does involvement in social, community, or religious groups.

4. Esteem Needs:After the first three needs have been satisfied, esteem needs becomes increasingly important. These include the need for things that reflect on self-esteem, personal worth, social recognition, and accomplishment.

5. Self-actualizing Needs:This is the highest level of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. Self-actualizing people are self-aware, concerned with personal growth, less concerned with the opinions of others, and interested in fulfilling their potential.
There you are I'm self-actualized, now get your own life.

Types of Needs:Maslow believed that these needs are similar to instincts and play a major role in motivating behavior. Physiological, security, social, and esteem needs are deficiency needs (also known as D-needs), meaning that these needs arise do to deprivation. Satisfying these lower-level needs is important in order to avoid unpleasant feelings or consequences. Maslow term the highest-level of the pyramid a growth need (also known as being needs or B-needs). Growth needs do not stem from a lack of something, but rather from a desire to grow as a person. Maslow’s hierarchy of needs is most often displayed as a pyramid, with lowest levels of the pyramid made up of the most basic needs and more complex needs are at the top of the pyramid.

Watched Straw Dogs last night, not very good.
Watched Angels and Insects that was MUCH BETTER.
This article is pretty screwed up.
In other news
After downing two tall beers at the Boise airport, SkyWest passenger James Whipple was told he
couldn't use the restroom on the plane he was on, because a light wasn't working. Unable to hold it, the resourceful gentleman urinated into an air sickness bag instead of his trousers. No other passengers noticed Whipple using the bag, but a flight attendant asked him about it and told the captain, who called airport police. Whipple was questioned and took a taxi home to Sandy, a Salt Lake City suburb. The airline sent him a letter of apology and a flight voucher, SkyWest spokeswoman Sabrena Suite-Mangum said Friday.
Now this is even better what is this guy's problem, he calls Barbara Walter an "empty mind slut". Does he realize how retarded he sounds?
In response, Savage said: "She used this dictator in Venezuela as a forum, as a fulcrum, in order to call the president those names." Savage added: "Notice what this double-talking slut just did, this mind-slut Barbara Walters. And I stick by those words. She's an empty mind-slut. She'd peddle anything for a ratings point." Savage went on to call Walters a "mental prostitute" and said, "I think that the woman is vermin. I think she's dirt."

Pre-Travel Gitters/Guess what? Nameology

Saw the movie Regular Lovers it was 3 hours long I have no idea why, it was the director of The Dreamers who made this film and his son was in both movies of course. It finally ended with the son dying, I was just so happy for it to be over.

Bought the new CD from Diva Destruction; Run Cold from iTunes. I really like it so far and they are a well put together band. Also I got a new job at the bookstore I applied to; they have locations in the following places; Boston, LaGuardia Airport, Philly Airport, Minneapolis, and all over Chicago.

I will be in Boston tomorrow afternoon, can’t wait to see all my friends and they have presents for me. I am going through a process of spring cleaning my belongings, and attempting to be a Flamboyant Minimalist.

Created a new piece of art today in addition to the one I posted as my profile picture. I am working on a new portfolio to submit fairly soon. Dave was accepted into the program he applied for so he might be moving to D.C. this summer.

Jeff soldiered this ring for me its cute it’s a faux diamond skull. Dave found it for me in Toronto and I had the ring from my broken slave bracelet. I blessed the deck of tarot cards he picked up yesterday and did my own reading.

Went to the library and had really amusing conversations, need to spend more time at my other volunteer position mostly because I like being there and plus I have stuff to donate. We went to a party the other night that was a lot of fun and we are making some friends. We chilled with our new roommate for the first time and it was alright.

Just felt like creating new pieces and feeling pretty good thanks to the Omega-3 Vitamins. I am putting up some auctions up pretty soon will post later, need to pack for the weekend.

By the way when did Stevie Nicks ever look like Courtney Love.
See Here
Look closely at her face there is a resemblance.

Random thing but I answered a trivia question correctly. I am not ashamed to say about who either, it is a Stevie Nicks fan site.

Look under Question 155, that's right I answered it correctly. The power of Google, I was also going to post some of the blogs from when I was in Boston.

I read all the lovely comments about me :)

Oh and this is the most fun thing I have read all day, I know this is all a joke.
I wish someone had told me about it sooner so I could have laughed.

Wow people got bored huh?

OBITUARY with my name spelled correctly, and hey if you change two of the letters in the last name it could be me, but no the middle name isn't the same, come on its close enough.

http://www.reviewjournal.com/obituaries/individual_display.jsp?obitID=4706974

Name: Truddie White Born: 05/23/1900 Location: Pritchett, Upshur, Texas Died: 02/01/1901 Location: Pritchett, Upshur, Texas Cemetery: Pleasant Hill Location: Upshur County, Texas

so my mom wasn't that original in spelling it that way, they just didn't live to spread the spelling.

Also my friend told me years ago in Spanish women named Truddie have red or pink hair and they are all cool :)

Who is this guy?

"I can take you out with just a flick of my wrist"

Above Lyrics Supervixen
"a hit is hard to resist
and i never miss
i can take you out
with just a flick of my wrist"

It's a shame people don't make good music like this anymore.

Had an interview at the Planetarium; for Museum Services Staff/Security Officer I. This means I don’t have a gun, wow that criminal justice degree really came in handy.

Finished reading Girlbomb it was pretty good.

We went to see this communist presentation and I got into a rather interesting conversation about having a fear of success.

Have an interview for a flight attendant position wish me luck.
Also have an interview for the bookstore on Thursday.
Finished watching The Doom Generation.

I'm planning to escape....

We are going to Boston at the end of this month yay! Can't wait to see some friends again.
We are visiting Dave's parents for Passover.

I have two new books to read now: Getting Out: Your Guide to Leaving America, and
Dave bought me Thus Spoke Zarathustra yes by Nietzsche. They don't have a picture of the version I have online, but there is a link to see what its about for the curious.

Went to see a foreign film, The Ax (Le Couperet)
2005, Costa-Gavras, France 122 Minutes
With Jose Garcia, Karin Viard

Based on a novel by Donald E. Westlake (POINT BLANK, THE GRIFTERS).
It's a black comedy/thriller. In French with English subtitles.

Unable to find work, a downsized engineer (Garcia) begins assassinating his top competitors in the job market. He doesn't wear a mask or gloves and he cleverly manages to escape the police or does he?

The best part I can think of was when his car and another one are passing and the other driver is being an asshole. So the Garcia, makes this brilliant hand guesture, which is a finger in a hole, meaning asshole or go screw yourself in french, either way the guy is horrified and drives off.

Also they filmed part of it in Belgium and I recognized some of the places they filmed I had actually been there so that was cool.

We then went to dinner and that was nice. Molly called and mentioned that Dave was supposed to give her a ride somewhere but he forgot. We went back home and then Jeff said we needed to go out so we all went to The Empty Bottle and there was this metal band playing and it was free, honestly the whole thing gave me a headache hah. In Chicago you can still smoke in bars which is gross in Boston, NYC and LA you can't which is great! I ended up playing this game they have there and did well. I used the men's bathroom on accident cause I couldn't find the women's lol.

Great we left and went to EXIT, which is one of the original punk bars in Chicago and it is much more relaxed there and we had 2 drinks each, Dave and I had Vodka with Cranberry and they were really weak. Then we got home at 3am and passed out.

Hair, Hair and MORE Hair

This is the show we were in, Dave and I were both demonstration models for Tigi/Bedhead.

This is my new hair.

Saturday: March 3rd, 2007. We arrived and then began the long process of hair styling. It went in this order, the hair color, then makeup, then shampoo and finally the outfit. All was in preparation of the stage show.

Here are the pictures I took in the preparation area, I’m sure more will pop up once the entire weekend is over.

Such is life

FRIDAY: I was waiting for the Express bus and there were Spanish Nuns there. Nuns are just cool. Went to Fox & Obel Market Cafe, and got Homemade Chocolate Ice Cream and Black Iced Tea. Did I mention it was really nasty outside with this really annoying kinda blizzard? I was killing time because I was early for my interview. It was this company, Photogenic Inc. and its event photography. I think it went well it lasted about a half hour and then I went to Lucky Strike, not to bowl but to sit at the bar and have a drink before I left to go home. So it turned out the guy I was sitting next to was a bartender so he recommended something so I ordered it and it was really good. Then he left etc and I was finished so I wanted something else. Then I again talked to the person next to me who was a steel worker, a Leo and annoyed that his beer was shaped like a bowling pin, also the slow service. Anyway someone else came out and helped me, and I had a Tanqueray and Gingerale. I talked to Dave in-between and it wasn't making me want to come home any sooner. But yeah I finished paid the tab and left and had to walk for awhile until I had to cross and wait for the bus to come and then lucky the bus I took home was right there. So I get home and I know Dave is at the Cafe and we need to be leaving soon to get to this Model Call.

So we make it to the call, despite traffic etc. He doesn't think they will take him and they do because he is tall enough and attractive duh. In between us setting the date for us to have our hair cut etc, our roommate calls. I couldn't make this up if I tried.
So recently his car had been towed and he is now able to pay for it, so he paid for it etc but he had an expired sticker so he decided to walk and go get it because they wouldn't let him have the car otherwise. Anyway, his car is already in a bad area of Chicago, so what happens of course is this:
He is surrounded by a group of kids and they ask him, “What are you selling?” and he responds, “What did you have in mind?” cause you can’t ignore them. I guess they didn’t like that answer because they hit him in the back with what he now thinks is a lead pipe. What are we playing the real-life version of Clue? And then he punches the guy in front of him and they start chasing him and ran until he loses them. So he ends up at a gas station and that’s when he calls me to ask Dave if he could pick him up.

So we finish up our thing getting the date of March 3rd at 2pm for Tigi/Bedhead.

We run out of gas on the way and have to make a pit-stop and then we finally pick him up. We go to the junkyard and he has the sticker but he ends up not getting it because the line is too long.

We go to this Chinese Restaurant (Cantonesia) in nearby Chinatown; Jeff and I get Zombies and Dave gets a Rob Roy. The food is pretty good. We get these cute umbrellas in our drinks.

We went home and then Molly came over. We drove to The Suburbs and went to see Zodiac. That movie was just too long, it was decent; but I would have rather seen Black Snake Moan.

Field Trip

He complained that I never go grocery shopping so we took a little field trip to Trader Joes.
This is what I bought:

Organic Romaine Lettuce
Sprouted Rye Bread (the cashier told me it was the best bread) Dave picked it out actually
Kashi Go Lean Cereal
Fettuccine Pasta
Fusilli Pasta
Bowtie Pasta
1% Milk
Organic Whole Carrots
Extra Firm Tofu x2
Organic Vanilla Yogurt
Omega-3 Odorless Vitamins (yup this was just for me)
Package of Hodgepodge Vegetables
LENTIL BIRYANI RICE x 2 (this is sooooo good)
Tofurky Sausages Italian (also amazing Dave had never eaten them before tonight)
Sauvignon Blanc
Frozen Asparagus
Tea & Lemonade

Then I cooked Tofu with Soy Sauce and Garlic, Stir-fry vegetables and then browned the Tofurkey and the yogurt was for dessert :)
Usually he cooks cause he likes to. So he really appreciates when I do it cause I won't.

So guess what yet another guy is moving into our house! Okay that now makes 6 boys to me, myself and I, the only girl. Why can't my roommate ever find a girl, they are moving into our old room and I guess I couldn't really see a girl living there anyway. Molly's room was way cooler and Mike has it, but our room is actually the second best after Tony's of course.

My roommates are Tony, Jeff, Mike, Louis, Dave and then this new guy who is moving in soon.
Jeff is actually pretty cool and Mike reminds me of my ex and the other two are okay.
When I say he does remind me of my last one in Boston, cause he has the same tattoo, he's this dirty punk kinda kid, works at a record label and is the same zodiac sign. Everyone is at least 30 except us, Tony and Louis are 35, Jeff is 39 and Mike is 30. I hope this guy is a reasonable age, all we know is he is from New York.

Anyway I had a hard day at the library, I've been into slides the past few days. I have an interview on Friday for a photographer job. I also have the Tigi/Bedhead Hair Modeling thing to go to. If I get that then I will be busy all weekend.

Hail Hurts and The Winner is............

We had to clean at the SINS Center last night. But first we went to Barnes and Nobles and then ate at Chilli's. Of course this sucked cause we were in the 'burbs so they didn't have a good selection. They made us vegetarian dishes that were mediocre in quality and bland in taste.
We cleaned and then drove back home and it was the absolute worst driving conditions. We got hit in the face with hail seriously trying to signal to switch lanes.

Anyway we got home and then our old roommate Molly was dropped off at our place. We walked 3 blocks to this party, Rice and Beats (Communist Party). So we got there late, paid the cover and I was bored for awhile, but it was better than being at home. Hip-hop is ridiculous, I suppose the people on stage were good for what they did; but I simply wasn't interested at all. The high point came when Molly and I were both by ourselves; both staring into space and we came together. It's funny because we are both Sagittarius we seriously are so alike. So while Dave was talking to this guy about politics etc, I showed Molly some dance moves. They finally started playing decent House music but there were seriously like 20 people there so it blew.
I showed Molly how my old roommates in Boston used to dance, and how you dance to industrial and how people who try to dance to goth music dance and then silly electronic dancing just to kill time. Finally they were done talking, um so I guess we went home and that was it.

Sunday Night:

Last night was Molly's Oscar Parties so I decided to dress the part. I was part Oscar/Part Movie Star.

Note to self: The Departed was a good movie, says Oscar.
I took gold eyeshadow and did my face and then I wore these fake designer glasses occasionally. That gold thing I'm wearing is a piece from Halloween in Toronto that we found in the street trash it was on this fake electric chair and it's awesome so I've used it different ways into costumes/outfits. The thing on my head is you guessed part of pantyhose and it was to give the illusion that I'm bald. I did this outfit in under a half hour because it was too crummy to go to the store and buy latex body paint.

Molly's coworker showed up to the party as an obnoxious drunkard. He was so unpleasant to be around that Dave dropped him home and we came back and hung out at our place with Molly.

We still have leftovers from the TUB of shitty whisky we bought and some beer we can have an impromptu party tonight maybe. :)

I'm finally watching

Glass and the Machines of God

all 3 known episodes because I've never watched it. I'm really happy that The Pumpkins are back together and will be playing together soon. I just wish spring would hurry up.

Accomplishments of the Day

I ate an entire jar of "Amada Spanish Olives STUFFED with PEPPER PASTE".
I made HOT CHOCOLATE not WARM chocolate.
Had the rest of the Southern Comfort, but there wasn't much left anyway.
I smoked an entire cigarette which is something I never can do.
Beat that Casper game in less than 10 minutes.

Last night/Yesterday was a blur only because we both passed out really early. At about 3 in the afternoon we left and ended up driving downtown only to realize we didn't want to be there and especially because it was rush hour and you can't find parking unless you want to pay an ungodly amount of money. We drove there and then ended up driving back and ended up in Ukrainian Village, and ate at this odd diner the food was pretty good actually despite the fact they served us tea/coffee in Styrofoam cups, and the guy poured coffee into my tea. It was actually funny and we both felt better. Then my mom called me and we talked for part of the drive home. Except we didn't go home we went to Greek Town and went to Jamba Juice and there was this book, The Four Agreements. It is about Ancient Wisdom and it applies to our modern lives.

Then we went to Barbara's Book Store.
Well we found a few interesting books, Final Exits which is an encyclopedia about all the ways you can die. Then there was this book, Ennui to go; which is self-explanatory and then Ask and It Is Given: Learning to Manifest Your Desires about Abraham so is what a made up deity to worship by this couple, the foreword is by Wayne Dyer, it just sounds like a cult sorry. And I jokingly said, I guess I'm not ready to receive that sort of information.

So this is my day off, I'm doing laundry and simple tasks until he is done with his work stuff and we do my errands which require his driving service.
I'm expecting a nice package in the mail one of these days, from a friend in Boston.

I need something great to happen right now.

We went to Couscous and had a delicious meal consisting of Falafel, grape leaves, Jerusalem salad, Tahini and Baba ganoosh.

The Ineffectual gets affected, and some other stories

Yesterday started out with this; Dave and I waking up to get ready to go to this protest. My first one actually. He cooked breakfast and I ate half of it. We drove down to the busy hospital intersection and found Curly (his boss). Basically we were trying to get people gathered and his boss is very disorganized. So these are the people who are there, his boss, Dave, me, this 19 year old kid who goes to the county hospital who was born in Toronto interestingly enough, this older man who had been coming to the hospital for over 30 years, and Tim this cute boyish adult who was weird but really cool.

So if we had enough people we were going to march into the highway and block off traffic, but since 6 people were there in total that didn't happen. So we went downtown to City Hall, and we passed out these flyers.

One says "Freeze Rates not Health care
No More Death- No Mas Muertes"

Affordable Power-Health

The other says; No Cuts on our County
People have a right to health care!

It lists why we need to stop the budget cuts. Basically there are two important people that we concentrated on today, Todd Stroger and Emil Jones.

Stroger took this position because of his dad, who the hospital is originally named after. All the other smaller clinics are going to be shut down and they are trying to vilify the hospital in order to justify the budget cuts. But this hospital is amazing, its the only one in Illinois and there are very few in the United States where this service is provided free of charge. I got my tooth pulled here for free. Some people have other ailments and need their medication that they otherwise could not afford and now instead of getting a 3 month supply of medication for your diabetes you will only get a one month and the hospital will get busier and busier and people will die because they can't get their medication. The wait is long enough as it is, sometimes it takes a few days of 10+ hours of waiting to get it now, can you imagine what would happen if the wait was increased to a week or worse?

That is why we went to City Hall and Dave and I went into the board room and listened to what they had to say, we really wanted to disrupt the meeting and let them know that this budget plan needs to change. Stroger just wants to cut health care but leave all his political buddies untouched, whereas fellow senators don't agree with his budget plan and have proposed an alternative budget plan which would fire all his buddies and save health care.
So Stroger has hired Dr.Simon to basically be the Butcher and sell the cuts. With the previous advisers that was not able to happen.

When we were passing out flyer's outside, a man in a nice suit asked to see what I was passing out and he said, "This is great, I just return to the address listed below and I said yes, he says, "keep up the good work." That made me feel really good and some people actually returned the petitions to me signed.

This board meeting was the beginning of a few to finalize these cuts. It was great, since I now have teal and purple hair, I'm sure there was some attention on me. I bet they were expecting some sort of disturbance and I can't wait to honestly. But next week is the bigger meeting that is more concentrated on this issue and that one will be disrupted, I promise.

After that we walked to The Thompson Center while Emil Jones office is. His office is on the 16th floor in the high rises, up we rode to the elevator. Again with the security but we had no problems before and we didn't then. So we didn't get to see Emil personally but we at least were able to speak to his secretary. We all went back and Curly gave his speech and she gave him the card with the information he needed to make an appointment.
Emil Jones in the only person in Cook County who can Freeze the rates of the electricity company Comm Ed. There is only one electric company because they thought competition would raise the rates but obviously that was wrong to assume. There was a bill in place so that the rates could not be increased but the bill ended and January 1st the rates tripled.
Curly works for these organizations Affordable Health/Affordable Power to the People. Affordable Power deals with helping people sign up for the LIHEAP/CEDA Energy Assistance Program to pay their gas and light bills in the winter because they are ridiculously expensive. In my apartment it was 900 for this winter. I can't imagine what anyone's heat bill was. In Boston I remember they shut the heat off because the bill was like 3000 or something. But you cannot shut any one's heat during the winter.

Part Deux of Wednesday
We went to Hollywood Grill, we really like it we've been there 6 times now. We both got Veggies Burgers but what was weird is they put Spinach on it.

Then we went to Revolution Books! If you can't tell by the name or the Huge Red Flag outside they are communists. That being said they are still nice, intelligent people.
We were there for at least 3 hours and its a tiny store, and I did buy 2 books they were calling me. The first title is Victorian Murderesses, seriously was this book made for me. That's exactly what Dave said when he saw it. It's a goldenrod yellow hardback and it was 4 bucks. I love anything Victorian related, seeing as Oscar Wilde was an author I've read a lot of. I was in Paris and I didn't get to see his grave and I was pissed and I dislike Paris because it was in the summer of the heatwave when I went.

The second book was Waiting: The True Confessions of a Waitress, Lou (The Owner) reduced the price a little since it was a new title. I started reading it immediately and got through the first chapter because Dave had become engrossed in a conversation with Lou. We all did in fact we talked about education, religion and of course politics. I personally am not that political or religious but I enjoy talking about them occasionally. The context of it was great, and I was discussing why I really didn't agree with the social hierarchy of religions and school. But I admit that college is vital to an individuals post adolescence growth. But I felt that I was living in high school and that frustrated me. But I would never say that college is a complete waste of time.

Dave says he wants to be a communist just so when he is drunk he can show that he is a card carrying member. But as it turns out neither one of us knew that there isn't just one communist party there is two. The Communist Party USA and the Revolutionary Communist Party. Which Lou is a member of is the latter. I kept trying to get Dave out of the conversation, I wasn't trying to be rude its just how long can you stay talking. Lou is an interesting character and it was good conversation but he had no stopping point he would just keep going.

So we finally got out of there and went home. Then since our roommate has the boot on his car and this morning it was towed, we took Dave's car to get a microwave out of storage. The microwave we have in our kitchen stopped working. So we got Jeff's microwave out of storage and some other items that are needed in the house. Something I felt that was necessary for me to obtain was Casper Activity Center on CDROM, its a computer game and he had it so I'm going to be playing that in my spare time.

We drove back home, and then almost immediately we needed to go out again. We then walked down to Nuevo Lion because maybe there were margaritas but it turns out there isn't and we order our dinner and Dave finds a piece of plastic in his, (gross) but he doesn't care and just lets them know instead of asking for it to be taken off the bill. We are both full and feel sick and we both say we are going to lie in bed and moan about our full stomachs. Anyway since my Netflixs are around and he has requested to watch one, The Godfather is what we watch. I fall asleep though cause I'm tired. I'm going to watch the rest of it later when I'm done with work etc.
We started watching Six Feet Under which is a show so many people have said I would like, mainly because the producer is Alan Ball (the director of American Beauty). It is very dark humor and kinda addictive we watched the first disc and since the whole thing is on DVD guess what's next on the Netflix Queue.
